We used the DVD in our Freshman Composition courses. The
20-minute length made the video a perfect supplemental teaching tool, and it gave students exposure to the author and his
ideas about the book. It was a big hit on our campus.

Dave Isay’s Listening Is an Act of Love proved to be a thoughtful
and provocative reading choice for Butler’s first-year students.
Students found themselves drawn to the stories....A perfect
choice to usher in the academic year.
While Dave Isay visited Butler, he was kind enough to join a
handful of faculty and a handful of students for a dinner held
on campus. He simply turned his ears to the students’ stories,
engaging them in conversation about the special relationships
each had with their loved one. It was a remarkable evening!

Working with Penguin was a breeze! We used How to Be Good this
year at Southern Methodist University. Even though my rep was
on the road, she took care of me immediately. We got our price
quotes, books, and free desk copies without a hitch. We used the
book jacket art Penguin sent too which was quite helpful. This
has been the easiest year for me to order the common reading!

I can’t thank you enough for all the help and suggestions and
support for this year’s summer reading of Greg Mortenson’s
Three Cups of Tea. He was spectacular. We had such a successful
event, and more, we all grew a bit better for having met him.
